WASHINGTON
BEHIND THE SCENES

Brief
The Washington D.C.-based private tour service Washington Behind The Scenes provides personalized and specifically tailored experiences of the city. Steering away from cliché tourism traps and typical city iconography the identity was to express the modular and unique nature of the company’s tours.

Solution
Developing their identity in a modular way, allowed the brand to change visuals, colors and moods for not only customers but also seasons and special occasions. The logotype uses a bold, timeliness sans serif typeface with unique trimming, while the use of the primary accent color “DC Red” does not only warms up the clean presentation on both the website and stationary but also pays homage to the city’s clean flag design and signature color.

Keeping a modernist approach to the brand, establishing a logotype that was carefully considered, functional, and uncluttered. Leaving visuals to add the right amount of new.

Alluding to a compass shape, iconography was based on exploring all corners of the city. North, South, East and West are replaced by WBTS, cementing the essence of a truly unique way to explore the city.
